Although there are still a few months before the start of the 2019 college entrance exams, the “sprint” has already begun for students who want to apply to vocational colleges. Recently, two vocational colleges in Shenzhen, the Shenzhen Polytechnic (SZPT) and the Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology (SZIIT), released their multi-channel recruitment plans, providing students with another path to vocational college entry aside from the college entrance examination.
3 + Certificates: Open a channel from secondary vocational to higher vocational schools
The “3 + Certificates of Occupational Skills” (hereinafter referred to as 3+ Certificates) exam is a "vocational college entrance exam" for vocational colleges to recruit graduates from secondary vocational schools. The “3” stands for Chinese, Mathematics and English courses, while the certificates of occupational skills courses include the National Computer Rank Certificate and the Certificate of PETS Level issued by the National Education Examinations Authority or the Certificate of Professional Skills Courses Examination for Secondary Vocational Education in Guangdong Province issued by the Education Examinations Authority of Guangdong Province, which is also responsible for organizing the examination of occupational skills courses. The Guangdong Province “3 + Certificates” exam for 2019 closed in January this year. For the first time student recruitment activity will be brought forward to March with student college applications expected in the middle of March.
