On January 15, a 14-member Thai parliamentary delegation headed by Mr. Tuang Untachai (Chairman of the NLA's Committee on Education) visited the Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology (SZIIT). Mr. Wu Yuewen (SZIIT Party Committee Member and Vice President) received the guests and exchanged views on in-depth cooperation on talent cultivation and teacher training between the two countries. Leaders from SZIIT's Office of Academic Affairs, Scientific Research Department, School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Publicity Department, President’s Office, School of Software Engineering, and School of International Exchange and Cooperation. and Mr. Ma Zhenrui (South China Regional Director of the Education Division of SenseTime, a SZIIT partner) also participated in the discussion.
Vice President Wu Yuewen first gave a speech on behalf of SZIIT and extended a warm welcome to Mr. Tuang Untachai and his delegation. Mr. Wu then provided an introduction to SZIIT and talked about its educational philosophy of supporting Shenzhen's development into a world city and training more elites for world city development, and expressed the hope that both sides will seize this opportunity to promote mutual understanding and friendship so as to improve the cultural and educational exchanges between China and Thailand.
On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Tuang Untachai expressed his sincere gratitude to SZIIT for the warm reception they received. He mentioned that Thailand is undergoing an economic transformation and that the China-Thailand strategic partnership is being further strengthened. Thailand shares China's development philosophy and appreciates China's achievements. Additionally, he looked forward to deeper cooperation with SZIIT in talent cultivation and teacher training so as to promote education on both sides.
At the meeting, Professor Tan Xu (Deputy Dean of the School of Software Engineering) detailed his experience in artificial intelligence education. The guests appreciated SZIIT's leapfrog development and excellent faculty and research teams. They were also very optimistic about the future educational cooperation between the two sides. After the discussion, the guests visited the training room of the School of Software Engineering.
This exchange will help SZIIT expand its international influence and provide a good opportunity to enhance its cooperation with countries and regions along the "Belt and Road".
