School Profile

The School of Management is a secondary Institute school. In September 2011, based on 4 majors (including E-commerce) of the former Information Economy Department and the Cultural Market Operation and Management major in the Applied English Department, the School of Business Management (and E-Commerce School) was established. In January 2018, the School of Business Management was officially renamed the School of Management. There are 6 majors in the School of Management. These majors are E-Commerce, Logistics Management, Business Administration, Cultural Market Operation and Management, Customs Clearance and International Freight, and International Business. The School has 49 classes and more than 2,100 full-time students.

Faculty Members

The School has 63 full-time faculty members with high quality and high academic qualifications. Among which, there are 42 full-time teachers for teaching, 10 student counselors and 9 teaching management personnel, including 3 professors, 27 associate professors, and 24 lecturers. The faculty team has 26 doctors (accounting for 60% of the number of full-time teachers), 28 members with a master’s degree and 7 members with a bachelor’s degree and most of them have “double qualified certifications”. Meanwhile, the School also has a part-time faculty team composed of more than 40 teachers with rich practical business experience. With years of school-running achievements, the School has set up a batch of excellent resource courses, including a national excellent (resource sharing) course and 2 divisions,3 provincial excellent courses and 26 university excellent courses. The School is equipped with 3 provincial off-campus practice teaching bases for college students and 6 Shenzhen off-campus public practice bases. Additionally, it invested a total of 25 million yuan and built 15 on-campus practice rooms with an area of approximately 3,000 square meters, ensuring the successful progress of practical teaching. In recent years, the School has undertaken7 provincial scientific research projects and 15 municipal department research projects. It has also obtained 10 scientific research patents and edited and published more than 20 textbooks. The E-Commerce major has been developed into a national backbone university key major and a model e-commerce major in Guangdong Province. The Logistics Management major is being developed into a provincial second-class brand-name major and a high-level major for provincial first-rate higher vocational institutes.

Education Highlights

Adhering to the "people-oriented" and "competency based" school operating philosophy, the School, guided by employment, vigorously promotes the integration of traditional business management-related majors with modern information technology and develops high-quality technical or skilled personnel with relatively strong information technology application ability for various industries and trades in Shenzhen and the Pearl River Delta area. The School actively explores the talent training modes such as work-study alternation, order training, etc. and improves students’ core professional skills and capacities to comprehensively enhance student competence and its professional education level and talent training quality. With the measures of course-certificate integration, contest promoting study, etc., the School has made great efforts to develop its students’ professional quality and practical work ability. The students have won the First Prize of the “VSTRONG Cup” Logistics Skill Contest of National Higher Vocational and Junior Colleges and many other awards in various contests. Since 2011, the School has produced 3,572 graduates for the society and all the students have graduated with “double certificates”. The initial employment rate of the graduates in the past three years exceeded 98%, and more than 80% of the students got a job related to their major.

In July 2016, the School of Business Management won the title of “Shenzhen Advanced Education Organization”.

In the context of rapid e-commerce development in Shenzhen, the Pearl River Delta region, the rest region of China and the world, Shenzhen’s pillar industries such as logistics industry, culture industry and trade, etc. have great demands for talent in e-commerce, logistics, enterprise management, cultural market management, customs clearance and international trade, which lays a solid foundation for the employment of the graduates of the 6 majors of the School and provides plenty of opportunities for occupation selection and occupational development. 1. E-Commerce

[Educational Objectives] This major aims to enable its students to achieve all-round development in morality, intelligence, physique and aesthetics. Students should demonstrate core socialist values, have a high educational level, good work ethics and humanistic qualities and master basic knowledge such as economics and primary technical skills such as e-commerce marketing, online shop design and data analysis. Graduates should be high-quality technical or skilled personnel who can conduct Internet-based marketing and planning, network editing, online shop design, e-commerce data analysis, web promotion, customer service management and e-commerce platform operation in the Internet industry and related industries such as service, wholesale and retail industries.

[Employment Prospects] Graduates can conduct online trading, Internet marketing, customer service and after-sales support, website optimization and maintenance, operational data analysis, logistics information system management, etc. at e-commerce, traditional manufacturing and trading companies as well as cross-border e-commerce companies. As a center for professional e-commerce websites in China and a cross-border e-commerce industry center, Shenzhen has a great demand for cross-border commercial talent with a good command of e-commerce skills.

2. Logistics

[Educational Objectives] This major focuses on the all-round development of students. Students of this major should reach a high educational level and have good work ethics and humanistic qualities and master the basic knowledge and primary technical skills of logistics. Graduates should be high-quality technical or skilled personnel who are competent in basic logistics operations, information processing, operation management and customer sales service in the logistics fields such as e-commerce logistics and international logistics.

3. Business Administration

[Educational Objectives] This major focuses on the all-round development of students. Students of this major should reach a high educational level and have good work ethics and humanistic qualities. They should also understand the rules of business development and the fundamentals of modern business management and acquire strong modern information technology application capabilities as well as business operation and management capabilities. Graduates should be high-quality technical or skilled personnel who are able conduct human resource management, marketing management, operations management and administrative management at various production and service enterprises.

[Employment Prospects] Graduates can work for all kinds of commercial companies (including wholesale, retail, leasing, finance and catering companies) as human resources specialists, sales specialists, customer service specialists, etc. They can work for production companies in the manufacturing industry as grassroots specialists for production management, quality control specialists, ERP specialists, operation specialists, etc. Additionally, they can work as administrative specialists and hold other related positions at government departments (such as administrations for industry and commerce, neighborhood committees, departments for finance and taxation, etc.).

4. Customs Clearance and International Freight

[Educational Objectives] This major focuses on the all-round development of students. Students of this major should reach a high educational level and have good work ethics and humanistic qualities. They should acquire the basic knowledge and primary technical skills in customs clearance and international freight. Graduates should be high-quality technical or skilled personnel who are competent in customs clearance and inspection, international freight marketing, international freight organization and management, document preparation and foreign trade merchandise operations in the fields of foreign trade, customs clearance, international freight forwarding, international logistics, etc.

5. Cultural Market Operation and Management

[Educational Objectives] This major focuses on the all-round development of students. Students of this major should reach a high educational level and have good work ethics and humanistic qualities. They should also acquire the basic knowledge and primary technical skills in cultural market operation and management. Graduates should be high-quality technical or skilled personnel who are competent in new media marketing, event planning and execution, creative planning and implementation of cultural activities and projects for enterprises and public institutions, marketing planning of cultural products and services and promotion and management.

Graduates should be high-quality technical or skilled personnel who are able to conduct international marketing, international trade operations, cross-border e-commerce operation, etc. in foreign-related industries such as international commerce, international trade, cross-border e-commerce, etc.

Excellent Teachers

Ji Youling (Majored in E-Commerce)

Associate Professor Ji Youling, holding a master's degree, has been rated as a young and middle-aged backbone teacher of SZIIT since 2009. She teaches courses in online marketing, e-commerce fundamentals and practice and e-commerce skills training. In addition, she has been committed to e-commerce and network marketing for many years and participated in the establishment of the E-commerce Fundamentals and Practice course (a national excellent resource sharing course) and in the project of the establishment of the provincial demonstration E-commerce major and the key E-commerce major in national backbone colleges and universities.

Hu Ling (Majored in Logistics Management)

Associate Professor Hu Ling, holding a master's degree, is a senior logistician. He is also a member of the Professional Committee of Information Technology of the National Logistics Vocational Education and Teaching Guidance Committee. He mainly conducts research on logistics management and data mining. He is in charge of a Guangdong second-class brand-name specialty construction project and a provincial-level training base construction project. The ERP application course he teaches is a provincial-level excellent resource sharing course. In addition, he has also guided his students to participate in competitions and helped them win two national-level First Prizes and four provincial-level First Prizes.

Yao Weifeng (Majored in Logistics Management)

Associate Professor Yao Weifeng is a postdoctoral scholar. He has been dedicated to the logistics management and corporate management fields for many years He was a visiting scholar in the US having a broad academic vision. He is also in charge of more than 20 national, provincial and municipal research projects in various fields. He published three academic monographs, more than 60 essays, guided his students to participate in professional competitions and helped them win a provincial Second Prize.

Mo Jima (Majored in Business Management)

Associate Professor Mo Jima, holding a master's degree, is a corporate trainer.

He mainly teaches courses in economics principles and management principles. He is enthusiastic about education and cares about student development. He works diligently with high and strict standards and also continuously conducts teaching reform and innovation. He has won the school-level Excellent Teaching Quality Award for more than ten years and also obtained excellent school-level annual assessment results from 2016 to 2017.

An Dongping (Majored in Customs Clearance and International Freight)

Associate Professor An Dongping holds a Ph.D. As an education enthusiast, he insists on teaching innovation and has flexible teaching methods. He has been awarded the Teaching Quality Excellence Award for ten years and has instructed his students to participate in the Guangdong Customs Skills Competition for three consecutive years and all the students were awarded. With focus on both teaching and scientific research, he has published 30 papers, obtained six national utility model patents and led or participated in more than ten projects in various fields, including a project of the Philosophy and Social Science Foundation of Guangdong Province.

Zhang Yunbo (Majored in Cultural Market Operation and Management)

Dr. Zhang Yunbo is a senior economist and a senior logistician. He has worked in the media industry for 13 years and has extensive practical experience. He is also one of the main curators of the Shenzhen Cultural Fair, the Shenzhen Animation Festival and the Shenzhen International New Media Short Film Festival. With research focus on cultural industry operation and management and media economy, he has participated in the research of a National Natural Science Foundation project (ranking second) and two provincial-level projects and published 12 essays.

Xian Xuelin (Majored in Cultural Market Operation and Management)

Xian Xuelin is a senior economist and a US certified commercial investment member with rich overseas study and work experience. She worked in three Fortune 500 companies in five years, including Samsung Group's Seoul headquarters, AIG Global's Asia Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong and Jones Lang LaSalle. She took charge of or participated in several soft science subjects of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province and the Science and Technology Innovation Commission of Shenzhen and planning projects of the Shenzhen Academy of Social Sciences.

Wang Xianggang (Practice Center)

Associate Professor Wang Xiangang, holding a master's degree, used to work for Huawei Technologies and now is a training instructor at Alibaba. He works diligently with high and strict standards. He mainly focuses on computer network technology and algorithm optimization and teaches courses in Computer Network Technology and Customer Relation Management, etc. He has won the Teaching Quality Excellence Award for many times and published several essays.

Chen Weifang (Student Affairs Office)

Lecturer Chen Weifang holds a master's degree and is a national level-three psychological consultant. She loves students and cares about their development. The class led by her has been rated as an “Excellent Class” and an “Excellent Communist Youth League Committee” for many times. She received excellent school-level annual assessment results from 2016 to 2017 and she was awarded the Teaching Quality Excellence Award and was twice rated as an “Excellent Counselor”. In January 2018, she won the Third Prize in the 7th Guangdong Counselor Contest.

Xiao Junhao (Office of Party and Government Affairs)

Xiao Junhao, holding a bachelor's degree, has been working in the Institute for 13 years since he was employed by the Institute right after graduating from the Institute with a major in Computer Applications Technology in 2005. He is outgoing and treats people sincerely. He is a hard and proactive worker. As a person who always helps people when they need help, he is highly respected by his colleagues and is also well known as a "caring guy" at the School of Management. Additionally, he has won many honors such as an "Excellent Communist Party Member", an "Excellent Staff" and an "Excellent Class Tutor".

Zhang Yanhao (Majored in E-commerce)

Zhang Yanhao was enrolled in 2015 and majored in E-commerce. She is a probationary member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and once served as the office director of the Communist Youth League Committee of the School of Management. She was awarded with many honors such as the Outstanding Youth League Cadre, the Excellent Student Cadre and the Outstanding Youth League Member and also won Academic Scholarships from the School for many times. She is currently working in the Ying Mall Development Department of Yinger Fashion Group and is responsible for the WeChat business membership sales and operation.

Zheng Yanfen (Majored in Logistics Management)

Zhang Yanfen was enrolled in 2015 and majored in Logistics Management. She is a member of the CPC. She now serves as the class deputy monitor and the attendance checker. With consistent top academic performance, she was awarded the National Encouragement Scholarship twice, the First-class Academic Scholarship and the Second-class Academic Scholarship once each. Through part-time self-study, she participated in the National Entrance Examination for junior college students to upgrade to the undergraduate course in 2018 in Guangdong Province and she passed the exam with 65 points above the provincial minimum score requirement for admission.

Ke Xiaoshan (Majored in Business Management)

Ke Xiaoshan was enrolled in 2015 and majored in Business Administration. She performed very well at school with excellent results. In 2017, she participated in the school-organized "Kingdee Cloud Management & Innovation Cup" Internet + Application Contest. Her team won the First Prize in the national contest and the First Prize in the Guangdong provincial contest and she directly obtained an offer from Kingdee International Software Group.

Graduation remarks: I fell asleep with a college admission letter and woke up to find that the admission letter had become my graduation certificate, proving my hard work at school.

Xue Shenyan (Majored in Customs Clearance and International Freight)

Xue Shenyan was enrolled in 2015 and majored in Customs Clearance and International Freight. She is a member of the CPC. She was the class monitor and the office director of the Student Union of the Communist Youth League of the School. In her sophomore year, due to her excellent performance, she was elected as the official representative of the 6th Congress of Shenzhen Students’ Federation. She has a cheerful personality with positive and diligent spirit during work and study, she is adored by her classmates and recognized by teachers.

Deng Xiaoting (Majored in Cultural Market Operation and Management)

Deng Xiaoting was enrolled in 2015 and majored in Cultural Market Operation and Management. She is a member of the CPC. She now serves as the class monitor and the commissary in charge of psychological health. Through unremitting efforts, she won the academic scholarship twice. Moreover, she decided to take the self-study exam for an undergraduate degree and successfully completed the undergraduate course of Shenzhen University.

Qiu Xiaoyu (Majored in International Business)

Qiu Xiaoyu was enrolled in 2015 and majored in International Business. She is a member of the CPC. As the class deputy monitor, she won many awards such as the Second Prize of the "Internet + International Trade Comprehensive Skills Project" for vocational colleges in the 2017 National Vocational College Skills Contest in Guangdong province and the Second Prize of Academic Scholarship for many times. She was also awarded with the school-level titles of "Merit Student", "Outstanding Student Leader" and "Advanced Individual" of the Future Management Association of the university.
