Our university won one Grand prize and three first prizes in the "Challenge Cup" provincial competition

Recently, the 16th "Challenge Cup" jointly sponsored by the Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Provincial Department of Education, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Provincial Association for Science and Technology, the Provincial Academy of Social Sciences and the Provincial Federation of Schools, announced the results of the awards. SZIIT won one Grand Prize, three First Prizes and ten Second and Third Prizes.

A total of 15 pieces of academic and scientific works of the institute were recommended to participate in the final round of "Challenge Cup", among which 5 works entered the final defense held virtually. After evaluation by experts, the work "Modeling the evolution of network public opinion and regional differences of the new crown epidemic" won the Grand Prize, the work "YOUNG College - the second classroom online teaching applet", "laser high-speed polishing - precision machining sharp knife", "automatic line marking instrument detection system" and other 3 scientific and technological inventions and production works won the first prize, and 10 other works won the second and third prizes, respectively.

Since the competition was launched in March, a total of 142 colleges and universities with 3636 pieces of works participated in the competition, and finally 1768 pieces of works entered the provincial level, with more than 100,000 participants. In the closing ceremony, Guangdong Higher Education Society released the first"Research Report on the Activity of Mass Innovative and Entrepreneurial Activities of College Students in Guangdong Province (2021)", in which SZIIT ranked 4th among the top 10 colleges and universities in Guangdong Province in terms of the activity of innovative and entrepreneurial activities.
