On September 8, SZIIT held a Teachers' Day commendation meeting and work conference for the new semester. Leaders including Liu Jin, Wang Hui, Zhang Wu, Yao Xueqing, Xu Zhiliang, Zhou Yanbing, all middle-level cadres, representatives of teachers who have been teaching for 30 years attended the meeting at room 215 of the conference center, and the rest of the faculty and staff attended the meeting online.
The solemn sound of the national anthem opened the celebration meeting. Xu Zhiliang, a member of the Party Committee and Vice president of the school, read out the decision of the institute to recognize the advanced units and individuals who have been accredited with 30 years teaching experience at the national, provincial and municipal levels for the 2020-2021 school year. Wang Hui, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president of the institute, awarded honorary certificates to the representatives of advanced groups and individuals. Liu Jin, secretary of the Party Committee of the institute, awarded honorary certificates to educators who have been teaching for 30 years. Mr. Ma Yanhong from the College of Microelectronics and Mr. Shi Daling from the Sports Department spoke on behalf of outstanding teachers and teachers who have been teaching for 30 years, respectively.
Vice President Xu Zhiliang made a report on the work of creating a world-class vocational school with Chinese characteristics, introducing the background of the construction of the first-class institute. He pointed out that all staff should be clear about the development goals of the institute to create a world-class vocational school with Chinese characteristics, which sets the national direction and addresses Shenzhen. All staffs need not only to recognize the achievements made during the construction, but also to realize the difficulties ahead. Staffs must uphold the working idea of "building a peak on a plateau", carry forward the new era campus spirit of "breaking and creating with emotion" at the key point of bidding for undergraduate degree and creating a world-class vocational institution, and take the courage and responsibility of "pushing the stone up the mountain and turning the impossible into possible".
Zhou Yanbing, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the university, reported on the construction plan of the first-class education from six aspects: working idea, goal, organizational structure, division of tasks, initiatives and working requirements. He pointed out that the construction of the new structure of first-class education is based on the high-end development of vocational education, focusing on the growth of students' life course, aligning with the major national strategies to construct the great bay areas. The institute will contribute to the "Chinese solution" and "Chinese model" for the cultivation of talents in the world vocational education.
On behalf of the institute, president Wang Hui introduced the blueprint for the next development of the school, sent holiday greetings to all staff, sincere thanks and high respect to teachers who have been teaching for 30 years, and heartfelt congratulations to the commended groups as well as individuals. He shared four personal insights: first, we should fully understand the significant achievements made by the institute in the past five years, and recognize the three distinctive features of the school's development in 2016-2020, namely, the creation of the "four chains" integration of innovative talent training ecosystem, and the strategic layout of the solution to the major industrial issues of national and regional concern. Secondly, we should practice the people-oriented development concept, continue to run a good education to the satisfaction of the people, and always reflect on the applicability of the integration of industry and education, and the matching degree of teaching resources and student development. Third, we should focus on the best and optimal, not only to open up the horizon and put high vision, but also to have the capability to show the confidence of Chinese vocational education. Fourth, we should comprehensively strengthen the leadership of the Party in education and the construction of teacher morality. A good teacher should be one with ideals and beliefs, moral sentiments, solid knowledge, and benevolence, be friends with students, peers and colleagues, and make greater contributions in constructing world-class vocational institutions.
