On September 26, Professor Michael Levitt, Nobel Laureate and Chief Scientific Advisor of NVision, a Germany company, and his delegation came to Shenzhen for a study tour. They visited the Sino-German Base in the Bay Area as their first stop, and had a seminar in the Sino-German (Europe) Industrial Park in Bao'an District, with leaders from Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology, Shenzhen Talent Group, Shenzhen Capital Group and Bao’an District, and representatives from Bao’an District Vocational Training Center, Bao’an Investment Group and related departments, and Sunshine Global Circuits and other enterprises. The participants exchanged views on project cooperation, financing opportunities, technological innovation services, and cultivation of high-quality talents.
Liu Jin, Secretary of the Party Committee of SZIIT, said that the Sino-German Base in the Bay Area is a rare and valuable innovation ecological organization covering the whole chain. It involves comprehensive bilateral cooperation between China and Germany in the whole innovation chain, so it is very difficult to build, but it is also of great value when it is built. The base has now introduced the German new energy advanced technology project, SAX POWER, which is a project jointly incubated byUlm University,Ulm City TFU High-tech Park, andSteinbeis Foundation for Economic Development, and has been introduced to the Sino-German (Europe) Industrial Park in Bao’an District through the service of the Sino-German Base in the Bay Area. It plays a very good demonstration role for German and European high-tech startups to land in Shenzhen, and also reflects the value and role of the Sino-German Base in the Bay Area. SZIIT will continue to support the construction of the Sino-German Base in the Bay Area, explore into the possibility of construction of an innovative ecosystem that combines international industrial, educational and research institutions together, and serve the development of industrial innovation. SZIIT wishes to continue to work with partners from governments and enterprises in the future to build science and technology eco-services and teams, accelerate the introduction of leading international projects like NVision, and boost the high-quality development of the Sino-German bilateral economy.
Prof. Levitt said, “We have been to many places in China, and we are particularly impressed by the development of Shenzhen. Success cannot be achieved by one person, but by an ecosystem, and I see a whole ecosystem today. Today's seminar is a good start. Under the guidance and promotion of the TFU-TFS Sino-German Science and Technology Innovation Eco-Service Platform, we are looking forward to a better partnership and greater success with all partners in Bao’an, Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area.” (by Liao Xuemeng, Office of Sino-German Base in the Bay Area)
