
In the afternoon of September 21, 2022, the School of Applied Foreign Languages, together with the School of International Exchange and Cooperation (Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs), held the "Opening Ceremony of Shenzhen-Hong Kong Joint Training Class and Professional Awareness Education" activity in Hall 215 of the Conference Center. Benjamin Chan Tak-Yuen, President of Hong Kong Metropolitan University Li Ka Shing School of Professional and Continuing Education, and Vice President Sheng Siwei, Vice President Cheng Jiawei, Senior Lecturer Zhang Tao and Lecturer Zou Hanwei, attended the online meeting via Tencent Meeting. Xu Zhiliang, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of SZIIT, leaders of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs, and leaders of the School of Applied Foreign Languages, attended the offline meeting, and all teachers and students of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong class also attended the meeting.
Vice President Xu Zhiliang said, the opening of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Joint Training Class of Business English marked the real implementation of the cooperation between SZIIT and Hong Kong Metropolitan University, and also marked a new stage in the task of the ministry and the province to jointly build a highland of vocational education in Shenzhen. We will first start from trying the Shenzhen-Hong Kong joint training class of business English, from mutual recognition of credits, mutual recognition of curriculum and two-way exchange of teachers and students, and further explore into the possibility of mutual recognition of academic qualifications and skills training for Hong Kong students, so as to make positive contributions to the creation of a world-class vocational education highland in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. President Chan Tak-Yuen from the Hong Kong side expressed his feeling of honor to cooperate with SZIIT and his positive expectation for further cooperation between the two schools in the future. The Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs, Hong Kong teachers and SZIIT Shenzhen-Hong Kong business English joint project team then conducted professional awareness education on students respectively.
