On the morning of March 8, Vice Mayor Wang Lixin led a delegation of leaders from the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPC and agencies of the Shenzhen Municipal Government in visiting he Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology (SZIIT) and reviewing the school's work. Departments that joined the visit included the Construction Office of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), the Municipal Education Bureau, the Municipal Science and Technology Innovation Commission and the Municipal Finance Bureau. The delegation was also accompanied by SZIIT leaders, including Ms. Liu Jin, Mr. Sun Yong, Mr. Zhang Wu, Mr. Yao Xueqing and Mr. Wu Yuewen.
The vice mayor-led delegation first visited the training room of the School of Electronics & Communication and then the Binhai Civil Engineering Technology Research Institute. Having listened to Vice Dean Guan Mingxiang's report on the collaboration between the School of Electronics & Communication and Huawei, Vice Mayor Wang Lixin inquired about students' post-graduation employment rates. At the Binhai Civil Engineering Technology Research Institute, the delegation was given a demonstration of achievements and shown data maps such as magnetic field distribution lines on computer. The delegation also interacted and communicated with fellows of the joint postdoctoral institute.
In addition, the delegation met with the SZIIT leadership team and faculty representatives. At the meeting, Ms. Liu Jin, Secretary of the SZIIT Party Committee, reported on SZIIT’s overall status and efforts to promote cooperation in and development of vocational education in the GBA as well as matters requiring support from the municipal government. He also mentioned that SZIIT has made outstanding achievements in recent years by focusing on developing morality and talent in pupils, and by adhering to the “1+6” open school operation mode which follows the guidelines of building up the party, utilizes scientific research and reforms to revitalize the school, and seeks further development based on platforms, high quality and talent. Vice Mayor Wang Lixin said that as the most beautiful college in Shenzhen and a first-class Chinese vocational college, SZIIT not only provides quality education, but also brings satisfaction to the municipal party committee and the municipal government.
SZIIT heads from the Office of the Party Committee, the Publicity Department of the CPC Committee, the President's Office, the Academic Affairs Office, the Personnel Department, the Research and Development Department, the Student Affairs Office, the Finance and Accounting Department, the Information Technology Research Institute, the Innovative Education Institute and the Binhai Civil Engineering Technology Research Institute, as well as deans from ten secondary colleges and faculty representatives participated in the review of the school operation and management.
